Body Art Studio Inspections

The Green River District Health Department regulates, certifies and inspects all body art studios, including tattoo, permanent make-up, body and ear piercing.  We also register all body art artists in the Green River District.   We certify approximately 26 studios annually including over 65 registered artists.

Kentucky’s Tattoo and Piercing Regulations were updated Sept. 9, 2019.

Please see the Documentation section below for information updates and new program fees.

New fees are expected to be implemented in mid-November 2019.

Did you know that Tattoo and body piercers in KY are required to have Bloodborne Pathogen Training for all artists?  If you are considering getting a tattoo or piercing, be sure to check the studios health department inspection to keep yourself safe!
