The Adult Day Center is available for individuals who reside in Daviess, Ohio, McLean, Hancock, Henderson, Union, and Webster Counties. The Center works with individuals (age 21 or older), who require 24 hour a day supervision and/or medical monitoring, or whose medical or developmental status would cause them to otherwise experience social isolation, and who are under the care of a physician. Services are paid by Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver or private pay.
The Adult Day Care offers daily supervision, assistance with feeding, grooming, toileting, supervision of/and assistance with administration of medications as well as many other services. Clients are provided breakfast as needed, a hot lunch, and snack daily, adapted to individual nutritional needs. We use therapeutic activities to enhance memory, physical strength, and flexibility, and clients also enjoy recreational activities such as bingo, art, music and karaoke in a caring, and positive environment. Our facility includes a day room, kitchen, TV room, laundry, shower and activity room.
The staff work with the client’s doctor, case manager and caregivers to develop a plan of care enabling client to obtain an optimal level of health and function.
Staffing is composed of a Registered Nurse (on duty at all times) and Clinical Assistants. Staffing ratio is minimally 1 staff per 5 clients, although additional staff may be present as determined by client needs or activities.
Nursing services provided include:
- Monitoring medical conditions.
- Medication monitoring/assistance with administration.
- Wound care, and other skilled needs.
Compassionate Care Adult Day Care is located at 1600 Breckenridge Street, Owensboro, KY, in the Daviess County Community Health Center.
The Center is open Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
